History
Born in 1889, Nicholas A. Kuiken immigrated to the United States
at the age of one with his two older brothers, Dirk A. and Henry
A. After settling in the Township of Saddle River, NJ (now the Borough
of Fair Lawn) he worked as a commercial and residential builder.
In 1912, he founded and registered the name The Kuiken Brothers
Company. The company subsequently incorporated in 1916. In the early
years, the Company was actively involved in residential and commercial
construction; in fact, Kuiken Brothers built a large number of homes
in Fair Lawn.
To date, the company has had the good fortune to never have suffered
major set backs or fires. The Kuiken Brothers Company presently
employs over 270 people. Assets have grown to include fleet of over 70 trucks and 60 forklifts.
At Kuiken Brothers we are proud of our history. Our lives and
work have been ingrained in the local landscape for nearly one hundred
