Stile & Rail – Millwork News:
Therma-Tru Announces New American Crafstman Collection.
Capturing an enduring trend in American residential design, Therma-Tru® Doors' new Classic-Craft® American Style Collection™ is a reflection of traditional Arts and Crafts style.
The collection provides simplicity, understated and straightforward style, solid construction and uncomplicated design – all hallmarks of the emergence of the bungalow in the early 1900s. Like all Classic-Craft fiberglass door systems, the new American Style Collection provides the texture and feel of a real wood door and delivers the thermal performance and lasting durability of fiberglass.
"The American Style Collection is more than just a beautiful door – it delivers thermal performance and lasting durability that won't crack, split or rot like real wood," said John Kufner, General Manager, Entry Door Systems, for Therma-Tru Doors. "Builders, remodelers, architects and homeowners alike have raved about the family of Classic-Craft products."
The American Style door is designed with vertical grains, clean and simple lines, square wood edges and a wide, full-length lock block. New decorative lite options include Villager™ and Homeward™ glass styles. Flush-glazed fiberglass doors feature the glass assembled directly into the door panel during manufacturing, making the door and glass one solid piece.
“We have noticed a large increase in demand for craftsmen style design in all building products,” says Dan Hughes, KBCo Millwork Manager. “We are pleased that Therma-Tru is helping us deliver what our customers need.” Visit any of our showrooms for a closer look at a Therma-Tru door today.

All displays will feature interior and exterior options. Pictured here is the Andersen bay window with copper roof and matching double hung windows. |
Spring is finally here and we anxiously await the Grand Opening of our newest window, kitchen, and millwork showroom. Once construction has been completed, this 6,000 + square foot showroom will feature over 100 window and door products, 15 kitchen and bath cabinetry displays, KB Mouldings, and hardware all under one roof in real home settings.
We have even designated an office area for builders and architects to sit down with their customers to review their specific projects and a play area to keep children occupied while mom or dad review the many options.
“As the window, kitchen and millwork choices have become more complex and varied, we felt it makes sense to show as many of the selections and options available, under one roof” said Doug Kuiken, president of Kuiken Brothers. “Our Professional Contractor customers deserve a place where they can send their customers and know that they will be taken care of in a consultative and professional environment. Our goal is to facilitate and make your projects more profitable, rewarding and less time consuming.” COMING SOON!

Home Trends: Front Porches
A recent NAHB study ranked the front porch as one of the top ten design elements that influence purchase decisions by consumers in new home construction. Another U.S. Census Bureau study of outdoor features in single family homes shows the number of porches nearly doubling between 1992 and 2004.*
Are you taking advantage of this trend and utilizing the most innovative products? Make sure you ask your KBCo sales rep about Tendura composite porch flooring. Made with 60% waste wood fiber and 40% recycled plastic, Tendura is termite and insect resistant and will not check or crack like tongue-and-groove wood flooring. Tendura combines the warmth of wood with the durability of plastic to make a product that is guaranteed not to rot or deteriorate.

Showroom Updates: 45 Andersen® Windows in 10 Feet of Wall Space!
Over 45 different options in one location...
When you walk into your local library you expect information and selection at your fingertips. At Kuiken Brothers Midland Park location, we feel that we have combined the best of both with our Andersen Options Library.
In updating our showroom, 10 feet of wall space has been designated to highlight some of the many Andersen glass and grille options available to our customers. Five years ago no one used terms like Fern, Pebble, Cascade, Reed, Full Divided Light, or Impact Resistant when referring to glass types or styles. With growing consumer demand, Andersen has worked closely with their supplier, Cardinal Glass, to create these and other options.
We want you to feel comfortable sending your customer to our showrooms to pick out that special option they would like for their remodeling or new construction project. As we measure response to this new Options Library we may decide to bring this tool to other locations in our family of showrooms.

Our Midland Park yard begins to stock up for the busy spring and summer season. |
As the building season comes into full swing, our sales reps and delivery vehicles are working long hours to get you the products you need to help keep you on schedule with your products. We hope that the following tips will help keep the process as seamless as possible.
Lead Times – Allow us to better serve you by giving our sales representatives as much lead time as possible. If you have your list ready to go but don’t need the material for a week, send it in anyway. This will help to give time to the sales rep to enter the order and the dispatchers and loaders in the yard time to load and schedule the order for delivery.
E-mail – All KBCo sales representatives have access to e-mail. Request the e-mail address of the sales rep that you are working with and forward material lists for quotes or orders directly to them. This will help you keep a record of what was ordered.
Fax – The number of fax lines have grown at each of our locations. Before sending a material list, double check to make sure you are faxing it to the fax machine closest to your sales rep. Don’t forget to put the KBCo sales rep’s name on the top as well For example: Attn: Matt Mauro.
If you are ever unsure where to send your material list, please feel free to call any of our locations. We will be more than happy to provide you with the fax number or e-mail address of any sales rep. As always, we are open to any suggestions that will help make the delivery process go quicker and smoother.
As always, we would like to hear your suggestions on how we can work with you to make the delivery process go quicker and smoother. Simply send an e-mail to info@kuikenbrothers.com.
