The connection to the house is one of the most critical aspects of deck building, and the most prone to failure. Learn proper ledger placement & mounting techniques that ensure durability and strength. Take the worry out of working with treated lumber with a crash course on the latest ACQ-compatible fasteners and hardware. Enhance your profits while protecting your clients investment by using the best products and designs in composite decking for beauty & sustainability.
Session 4 1:30 – 2:30 Radius Exterior Trim
Round out the day with a session on curved trim. Having found the Right Angle, move on to mastering the mathematics of circles and making arch-top trim the easy way: calculate the radius of a segmented arch; cut radius heads with a plunge router and trammel arm; heatbend pvc head casings. Finally, learn techiques to plot an ellipse and take home plans for making a simple jig that cuts a perfect ellipse. Use the same techniques for framing coved deilings and curved hips.
