Fastenmaster IQ Hidden Fastening System

Fastenmaster Cortex Concealed Fastening System

You build a FastenMaster Cortex deck the same way you would screw down any deck.

Using your standard drill and the Cortex Setting Tool, drive the Cortex fastener to the preset level below the deck surface. It is important that the Cortex screw is driven perpendicular to the deck, with two screws per joist. The setting of the Cortex screw creates a cored-out hole in the deck surface. Place the Cortex Engineered Plug into the hole with the deck surface side up. Gently tap the plug into the cored-out hole until the plug is flush with the deck surface.

Tiger Claw Hidden Fasteners

Kuiken Brothers stocks the TC-G fastener which is used primarily for grooved composite boards (Portico Eclipse Decking).  Recommended for use in 5/4" or thicker decking. A router or biscuit joiner can be used to create grooves in solid edge decking.
